Genuine Murano glass in pretty Ice Blue, handmade in Venice containing white gold and hand set in polished sterling silver, gives this circular pendant necklace its lovely cool, silvery appearance. Measuring approximately 20mm in diameter, the pendant hangs from a smooth sterling silver snake chain, available in 16-inch or 18-inch lengths.

The glass is individually handmade by skilled artisans on the island of Murano in Venice, Italy, using traditional glassmaking techniques that have been passed down through generations. Fine layers of white gold leaf are incorporated into the glass, creating subtle silvery highlights beneath the pale blue colour. Little bubbles, flecks and natural variations give each piece its own character, making every necklace beautifully different.

The circular design takes inspiration from the coloured stained-glass windows at Antoni Gaudí's Casa Batlló in Barcelona. Their underwater colours and organic shapes, reminiscent of jellyfish and ammonites, are both decorative and designed to let light into the building. The pale blue Murano glass has a similar quality, with its white gold leaf catching and reflecting the light.
